October 2009 The Greater Rochester & Finger Lakes Central Service
Association (GRFLCSA) held their 1st Annual “Free” Educational Seminar and Vendor Fair on October 10th,
2009. Hosted by our vendor
sponsors, the program, held at Unity Heath System/Park Ridge Hospital, in Rochester, was a success according to Frank Riggi,
current president of the GRFLCSA. The topic was AAMI ST 2009 “Recommended
Practices for Sterilization UPDATE” presented by Mariann Hughes, Sarah Coleates
and Matt Beauchaine of SPSmedical. SPSmedical’s Education Department has a unique method for attaining complete participation
from their audience by using hold-up-placards containing positive responses on one side and negative responses on the opposite
side. It is a very clever way of assuring your audience has understood the information presented. We had 67 attendees and increased our membership to 102 members. We were very pleased to again offer up a free educational
program, breakfast and lunch for our local chapter members. We couldn’t do it without the gracious contributions from
our sponsors. See the list
on our website: www.grflcsa.org while you are there, check out the
site. The GRFLCSA wishes to thank the speaker
sponsors and supporting vendors for their support in making this a successful program. Our speaker sponsors were: SPSmedical
